A limited edition archival print of Ina’s painting "Two gondolas":

This painting is based a sketch I did on my trip to Venice. I liked this section of the canal that curved, creating more allure and points of interests for the buildings on both sides of the canal. But what makes the scene exciting for me are the two gondolas in the foreground that framed everything else in the painting.

  • The print is part of the limited edition, and individually signed and indexed by Ina, the artist
  • Made with museum quality permanent ink on thick stock paper
  • For ease of sourcing picture frame and mat, this print is scaled to fit a mat with an opening of 7” x 10” (17.78cm x 25.4cm) and a picture frame of 12” x 16” (30.48cm x 40.64 cm)

Finding calm in the current

In Two Gondolas, the viewer is drawn into a quieter pocket of Venice—tucked away just beyond the bustle of one of the city’s central thoroughfares. This scene is located near the Fondamenta Rio Marin on San Polo island, an area known for its grand Venetian architecture and lively atmosphere. But at the end of the road, where the canal bends gently out of sight, the artist found a moment of calm and a composition that felt both approachable and intimate.

This painting is based on a plein air sketch the artist created on location, while exploring the city by foot and water. She spent time traveling up and down the Fondamenta Rio Marin, drawn by the character of the colorful buildings, multiple crossing bridges and passing gondolas. What ultimately caught her attention was this scene framed by two gondolas in shadow, their curved forms acting like parentheses that cradle the composition and draw the eye inward.

A small figure near a doorway tends to a boat—a subtle nod to daily life in Venice, where canals are sidewalks and boats replace cars. While much of the surrounding area brims with ornate façades and tourist energy, this view feels like a rare moment of stillness—elegant, yet grounded.

The painting’s dynamic reflections dance across the surface of the water, capturing both the texture of the buildings and the rhythm of the canal itself. Warm reds, olive greens, and deep blues swirl together, echoing the buildings, trees and the sky above it. The narrow, winding canal adds a sense of mystery and intimacy, inviting viewers to pause and take in a side of Venice that isn’t always seen—but deeply felt.

Two Gondolas is a study in contrasts: light and shadow, grandeur and simplicity, movement and stillness. It captures not only the physical beauty of Venice, but also the fleeting moments of quiet wonder that appear when one takes the time to really look.

Art prints FAQs

Do the art prints come with a mat? How do you ship them?

Each print comes with a mat and a backing board and is ready to frame. For protection during transportation, the matted prints are wrapped in a clear plastic sleeve and then put into a rigid, protective envelope.

How do I find the proper frame and mat size for your prints?

Please refer to the “Overall dimension (including mat)” in the product description for the proper frame size. For example, if it says “Overall size (including mat) is 14” x 11” (35.56cm x 27.94cm)”, then the print will fit a 14”x11” picture frame perfectly.

If you would like to change the mat, you can easily do so by detaching the print from the mat (I used artist tape and it’s non-permanent). Please make sure the alternative mat you are using matches the dimension of the “Mat opening” specified in the product description. For example, if it says “Mat opening/Area of the artwork is 10” x 7” (25.4cm x 17.78cm)” then it will fit a mat with an opening of 10” x 7” perfectly.

Will the art print contain the trademark that says “Ina Xi all rights reserved”?

No. The trademark is for previewing the artwork through my Web store only.
